Based on exceptional guest reviews and an impressive listing, Normandie Rentals is being recognized with a “Top Vacation Rental” award on FlipKey.
This honour is awarded to a very select group of vacation rental owners based on reviews from past guests.
We’re delighted to have been recognised in this way, and fully appreciative of the comments that our guests have contributed after their holidays in Normandy.
Here is a promotional video produced by the Normandy tourism office. 7 minutes of fab places to visit and things to see when you’re on holiday in northern France.
We are delighted that the beach near our 6-bed Normandy holiday rental has been awarded the Pavillon Bleu status.
“Pavillon Bleu” is part of the French blue flag programme, that awards beaches that meet high quality standards in water facilities, safety, environmental education and management. The beach at Brehal is one of only 7 beaches in Lower Normandy (Basse Normandie) to achieve the Pavillon Bleu standard, and only 120 local areas (communes) across France.
So, not only is this a great place to have a holiday, it’s also a safer place to bring your family.
Spring 2011 has brought one of the lowest tides for many years for Normandy. These pictures were taken at the St Martin de Brehal beach near our house.
Holidaymakers who were staying at Maison Mielles were treated to some exceptional good weather and stunning views of the bay.
The Souleuvre Viaduct in Normandy was built during the 19th century by the famous French engineer Gustave Eiffel to carry the Caen – Saint Lô railway across the Souleuvre River. A permanent platform for bungee jumping was established by A. J. Hackett in 1990 atop the highest pillar. A light gangway was established where the railway platform used to be, allowing access to the platform from the side of the bridge. The viaduct offers a wonderful jumping experience amid the spectacular Normandy landscape and is easily accessible from our 2 holiday gîtes near Saint Lô and from our large beach house near Granville.
Get in touch with us if you would like to combine your holiday in Normandy with the adrenaline pumping excitement of a bungee jump!
Just south of Saint Lo, in the Normandy countryside (bocage) is a rocky outcrop called ‘Les Roches de Ham’.
Popular with climbers because of the 100m plus shale cliff with magnificent views from the summit, the area is also a good walking and horse-riding location for those on holiday in this part of France.
Very close to our gîtes, this would be a great place for a short excursion while staying in the area .
